Harmony of Connections

Barber’s Reincarnations and American Composers

With this concert, Te Deum explores the ways music binds us—to the earth, to one another, and to the shared human experience through faith. Choral music has long been a vessel for connection, its harmonies resonating beyond words to express the profound and the ineffable. This program weaves together an evocative collection of works that illuminate these connections.

Through choral music, poetry, and space, the evening is designed as an immersive experience—one that invites deep listening and reflection. From Samuel Barber’s masterful Reincarnations to the meditative soundscapes of Meredith Monk, from the deeply expressive music of local composer Forrest Pierce to the world premiere of Anthony J. Maglione’s A Good Tree, the concert offers a journey through music’s power to ground us, unite us, and lift us toward something greater. Through this interplay of sound, text, and space, Harmony of Connections explores the ways music fosters a sense of belonging, deepens our awareness, and reminds us of the intricate bonds that shape our world.
