Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil

Sergei Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil will be presented in English translation, honoring the work’s profound spiritual and musical legacy. This performance celebrates one of the choral repertoire’s most revered compositions.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first and only English-language recording of this masterpiece, made in 1975 by the Orthodox Concert Choir of Los Angeles. Performing this cherished work in English offers American audiences a unique opportunity to experience the All-Night Vigil as Russian audiences did—hearing the fervent prayers proclaimed in their own language, with an immediacy and emotional impact that deepens the connection to Rachmaninoff’s sacred vision.
